Child Protection Program
The Child Protection Progam serves as advocates for parents with active CPS cases. Our involvement is not with the Department of Family and Protective Services, but with families whose child/ren have been removed from the home and placed in temporary foster care placement. These families receive ongoing support from DFPS such as case management, counseling or have a reunification plan ensuring that children return to the care of their parents and family as quickly as possible after an emergency.
The goal of the foster care system is to ensure children’s safety and well-being while removed from the home while our goal is to ensure parents are completing the goals required in the case plan. Before children can return home, the child welfare agency and the court must be certain that:
- You can keep your children safe.
- You can meet your children’s needs.
- You are prepared to be a parent.
