Housing, Utility, & Social Services Assistance

Housing Initiative:

Our Housing Assistance Initiative helps local communities work cooperatively to improve the conditions and well-being of women in Central Texas by helping families find safe and affordable homes and providing essential transportation planning in an effort of reducing homelessness in our community.

Utility Initiative:

Our Utility Assistance Initiative is designed to assist low-income households in meeting their immediate energy needs and encourage consumers to control energy costs for years to come through energy education.

Social Service Initiative:

Our Social Service Initiative is an appointment-based section where we assist with completing social service resource applications for benefits. This includes applications for:

  • SNAP
  • TANF
  • WIC
  • Medicaid
  • Social Security Disability
  • VA Benefits
  • Child Support

Community Clothing Closet (CURRENTLY CLOSED)

Our Community Clothing Closet provides quality new and used clothing and household items to thousands of individuals and families, for free. Most of these items are donated by the community and stores from across the country. 

What We Accept

  • New clothing with tags

  • New undergarments with tags

  • New shoes with tags

  • Gently used clothing free from stains, rips, pet hair, or worn material

  • Casual and business attire

  • Gently used shoes with no rips, holes, or missing tread

  • Sheets, blankets, and bedding free from stains, rips, pet hair, or worn material

  • Towels free from stains, rips, pet hair, or frays

  • Unused hygiene and personal care items, new in the package

  • Pots and pans

  • Dishes

  • Baby items

 

What We Do Not Accept

  • Furniture

  • Pillows and decor

  • Toys and games

To Shop:

Everything we offer in our Community Clothing Closet is free to families. If you and your family are in need of clothes or household items, you are able to visit our Community Clothing Closet every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In case of an emergency, please call our office to schedule an appointment. 

To Donate:

Your gift provides meaningful, life-changing assistance to those most in need in our community. Please contact our office Monday- Friday 10a-3p to schedule your donation drop off.  We are always in need of blankets, toiletries, sheets, towels, and kitchen items, however, for health reasons, please note that items must be clean and in good condition.
